Ariel reached out to me about maternity photos and we both knew from the start we weren't going for run-of-the-mill. She had very specific outfit inspiration (which I looooved) and I had the perfect location in mind. Snow and Blue Ridge Parkway closures would change up our session last minute, and ultimately land us a location I couldn't even have dreamed of. When I showed up early to scout, I was immediately reminded of the hills in Ireland when I visited 3 years ago. The backdrop was immaculately on brand for this family's outfit choice.
It was a cold cold day, and while little Eloise warmed up to me quickly - she held my hand from the parking lot up the mountain, until her legs gave out and her dad had to carry her - the wind was frigid. We had to hurry through our pictures at the peak because the windchill was too much for Eloise. We headed back to the cars to defrost. After some snacks (for me, not Eloise.. duh) we started out back into the field near the parking lot and wrapped up our session while the sun came down behind the rolling hills.
